Full-Time Position Summary The CAD Designer is responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings and plan sets to support civil and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and technical staff to develop high-quality construction documents for transportation, site development, utilities, and municipal infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare and modify CAD drawings and plan sets for civil engineering projects Develop roadway, site, grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control drawings Translate engineer markups, sketches, survey data, and design criteria into accurate construction documents Develop plan sheets including layouts, profiles, cross-sections, details, and exhibits Coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines to ensure consistency and accuracy Maintain CAD standards, layering conventions, and file organization Assist with quantity takeoffs and basic design calculations as directed Review drawings for completeness, clarity, and adherence to applicable standards Meet project schedules and support project managers to deliver high-quality results Required Qualifications Associate degree or certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of CAD design experience in a civil engineering or infrastructure environment Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong understanding of civil drafting practices and construction drawing standards Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and survey data Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Preferred Qualifications Experience with transportation, municipal, utility, or site development projects Familiarity with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) or municipal design standards Experience using Civil 3D tools such as surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks Knowledge of electronic plan submittal and document control processes Work Environment Office-based position with collaboration across engineering and design teams Standard work hours with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines Team-oriented professional environment with opportunities for growth Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Senior Building Envelope ConsultantUSA USD 120000
