CADD Drafter

Job Summary The CADD Drafts person plays an integral role in the operation of the Company. His or her responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and developing shop drawings for use in the production department. Duties and Responsibilities Liaise with architects, engineers, Estimator, Production Manager and Installation Foreman to gather product and structural requirements and designs Calculate dimensions taking into account materials standards. Prepare packets for submittal to meet architectural spec, PCM fabrication and installation standards Create detailed designs with computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software Prepare shop drawings. Prepare field dimension, fabrication and installation packets. Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards. Document submittal progress. • Maintain professional, cooperative relationships with contractors, engineers, internal employees and management. Develop and maintain a high level of expertise with the CADD system chosen by the company. Complies with corporate policies and procedures. Basis of Evaluation This position is responsible for the duties noted above and as such will be evaluated on the achievement of the maintenance and improvement of all processes that effect quality, productivity, and customer service. The CADD Drafts person has an expressed obligation to satisfy the Company's owners; therefore, the implied expectations from the owners will be considered in the performance evaluation. Preferred Qualifications 1. Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role 2. Hands-on experience with computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software Cabinet vision & Auto cad 2026 3. Familiarity with 3D modeling tools 4. Good math skills 5. Ability to meet deadlines 6. Understanding of AWI standards. 7. Must be able to read and interpret customer blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other documents necessary to perform the job. 8. Must have a working knowledge of company production techniques as well as relevant production and safety procedures and policies. 9. Computer skills, including at least Outlook, Word, Excel and at least one estimating system, are desirable. 10. Willingness to "roll up his/her sleeves" and do what is necessary to get the job done. 11. Honesty, integrity and a strong desire to succeed. 12. Excellent organizational and communication skills. 13. Ability to deal tactfully with colleagues. 14. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
