BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direction of the principal or designee provides general campus supervision duties. Assist in maintaining standards of student discipline and ensuring the observance of rules and procedures are followed. Performs related duties as required/assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides assistance in the maintenance of a safe and orderly cafeteria environment.
• Supervise students in appropriate cafeteria behavior: o Use of a quiet voice o Keeping hands and feet to oneself o Use of safe movement
• Provides supervision of students on campus and at school activities.
• Takes part in in-service training programs.
• Displays initiative during supervision duties.
• Processes related discipline records.
• Supervises student in behavior consequence programs.
• Reports accidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintains student confidentiality, unquestionable integrity.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Ability to relate to children and communicate well with staff members, teachers, and parents.
• Knowledge of school discipline procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• React quickly and appropriately.
• Demonstrates ability to work safely and maintain a cooperative working relationship with fellow employees and the public.
• Perform the above mentioned duties without screaming, berating excessively or haranguing children or fellow adults. Must display the ability to set a high standard in speech, manners, and morals, as an example for the children.
• Ability to accurately perform assigned tasks.
• Ability to perform duties in full compliance with all district requirements and school board policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be 18 yrs or older
