Job Description
Spend your summer making lifelong memories while helping campers have the best summer of their lives! As a Camp Counselor at Camp Lincoln, youll play a key role in creating a fun, supportive, and unforgettable experience for campers. Counselors are part of the cabin staff team and are responsible for a group of campers within an assigned cabin and chalet group for 24 weeks at a time.
In this role, youll serve as a mentor, leader, and role modelguiding campers through daily activities, helping them build confidence and friendships, and ensuring they feel supported and safe throughout their time at camp. From leading games and activities to cheering campers on during events, youll help create the positive, energetic environment that makes Camp Lincoln so special.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesHelp create and implement a fun and engaging weekly schedule for your camp groupOrganize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week, which may include crafts, nature exploration, songs, games, swimming, and moreFoster a positive cabin environment and support campers in building friendships and confidenceIdentify and appropriately respond to camper behavior concerns with guidance from Camp LeadershipHelp keep camp spaces clean, organized, and welcomingCommunicate with parents about campers experiences and report any concerns to Camp LeadershipAssist with maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendanceLearn and follow all emergency procedures associated with camp operationsFollow and enforce all safety guidelines to ensure campers wellbeing and know their whereabouts at all timesJob RequirementsInterest in working with children and creating a fun, supportive camp experienceExperience in camps, youth programs, recreation, education, or related fields is helpful but not requiredAbility to lead, plan, organize, and participate in a variety of activitiesAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative independentlyStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsIf applicable, current nationally accredited lifeguard certification (for applicable activity areas)Ability to participate in outdoor activities and use camp equipment safelyAbility to hear, communicate with, and actively supervise campers in a variety of settingsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds as neededEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience working with youth programs or campsPrior experience working with children is preferred but not requiredAbility to interact positively with campers ages 517 with a wide range of abilities and personalitiesWhy Join Camp Lincoln? lincoln-lakehubert.comCamp counselors gain leadership experience, build lifelong friendships, and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on campersall while spending the summer outdoors in a fun and supportive community.
