Camp Helen Brachman, Almond, WI Pay:
$17.50/hour
Mission :
COA Youth & Family Centers nurtures children, supports families, and builds strong and resilient communities - one child, one family, one community at a time. Summary This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of the camp's buildings, grounds, equipment, and other facilities. It is a full-time, seasonal position.
Main Job Responsibilities Compliance/Safety Goal:
Follow all applicable standards, e.g., ACA, OSHA, state, local, municipal, etc.
  • Use equipment, materials, etc. in a safe and correct manner.
  • Conduct a daily check of equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair - report needed repairs promptly to supervisor.
  • Submit timely requests for equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures as well as general camp procedures and practices. Education/Knowledge/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • CPR / First Aid certification (or willing to get).
Preferred:

  • Love of outdoors and being active. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions The physical requirements are the ability to:
  • Sit, stand, kneel, crouch, bend, twist and walk for long periods of time.
  • Lift and carry at least 80 pounds.
  • Handle exposure to heat and chemicals.
  • Respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid - Must be able to provide leadership and assist campers and staff in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury).
The work environment is an outdoor camp environment. This means that the person may spend much time out-of-doors which can mean exposure to hot, cold, rainy weather. It also involves various activities with youth requiring the ability to respond quickly to changing situations and emergencies. This position requires evening and weekend work on a regular basis. These characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while preforming the essential job functions.
