URGENT HIRING 2026
Summer Camp Nurses:
- We are looking for 1-2 more nurses for the following weeks at Camp
- We are unable to provide relocation assistance or cover moving expenses
- 7/11-7/18 (Week 4) 7/18-7/25 (Week 5) 7/25-8/1 (Week 6) This is a great opportunity for any nurses looking to dip their toes into camp nursing!
- Loving kids and connecting with kids is a must for this position as is someone who enjoys connecting with our younger counselor staff!
Pay and Benefits:
Weekly rates start at $1500 per week; Pay is based on licensure, experience and schedule.Your team:
TWO nurses scheduled per camp week supported by unlicensed medical assistants On-site housing with a/c, internet, private room and amenities available Laundry services, full food and housewares- Staff have full access to snacks/drinks in Country Store, paper goods, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc.

Eligibility and Requirements:
•Note:
This position requires quiet a bit of stamina and physical ability due to the rustic nature of our location. Being comfortable spending extended periods of time outdoors is a must, including long periods of time spent on your feet in rugged mountain terrain, steep slopes, and uneven surfaces in the HOT Virginia humidity and heat. Physical demands of this job include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity.- Hiring is dependent on passing federal and state background checks
- Must hold current Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or a License from a Compact State; Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse in state of Virginia Current CPR/First Aid certification 2-3 years nursing experience required Experience working with kids Camp nurses must have a current driver's license and be able to drive a Camper or Staff member as necessary.

Medication Administration Times:
Report to Lodge (M-Friday) 7 am-9 (Administer/Dispense Meds) 1230-130 (Administer/Dispense Meds) 530-700 pm (Administer/Dispense Meds) 8:30- 9 pm (Administer/Dispense Nighttime Meds as needed)
- The time in between medication administration during your Nurse Shift is spent by: floating around Camp making yourself available for medical issues, maintaining a presence on the White House porch (central Camp location), being accessible, doing inventory/stocking/purchasing, or meeting with other Staff.
- Our nurses stay/live on site for their working weeks, Saturday
- Saturday.
KEY DATES FOR NURSING AND MED STAFF
Camp Clinic Inventory and Prep:
Camp medical inventory typically takes place in March over two days. 2026 date is TBD. June 13-14: Med Team Weekend- ; orientation, meeting camp directors, med station setup, organize and final pre camp prep
- required for all med staff Pre-Camp (staff only, no campers): June 15-June 20 Week 1: June 21
- June 27 Week 2: June 28
- July 4 Week 3: July 5
- July 11 Week 4: July 12
- July 18 Week 5: July 19
- July 25 (all nurse positions filled this week) Week 6: July 26

- About Camp Varsity | Camp Culture The Camp Varsity summer program is a rustic, overnight summer camp serving youth ages 8-15 and encourages "back to play and back to nature" in a fun, un-plugged environment. We typically have anywhere from 130-150 campers per week along and average about 80 staff members a summer. Our summer program typically runs from late June
- early August and most of our days are spent fully outdoors.
Camp:
from composting our kitchen scraps, partnering with local farmers to collect our food waste after meals, recycling, growing kitchen herbs and a Camp garden utilizing earth-friendly growing methods. Camp Varsity is a smoke-tobacco-drug and alcohol-free business operation.Job Types:
