Pay and Benefits:

Weekly rates start at $1500 per week; Pay is based on licensure, experience and schedule.

Healthful food and meals are served daily in the Lodge. Snacks are available to you throughout the day in the property's old Farm House (called "The Country Store" or the "White House"). The Camp Office is available to you and is the central operating location for all things administrative. Wi-Fi, office computers, and printers are available to you there. We offer our nurses the following options, including housing: No eligible campers, compensation begins at $1500 per week depending on experience. Work trade that covers 100% of camp tuition for one eligible camper with an additional compensation beginning at $750 per week depending on experience. Note:

This position requires quiet a bit of stamina and physical ability due to the rustic nature of our location. Being comfortable spending extended periods of time outdoors is a must, including long periods of time spent on your feet in rugged mountain terrain, steep slopes, and uneven surfaces in the HOT Virginia humidity and heat. Physical demands of this job include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity.

• Must hold current Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or a License from a Compact State; Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse in state of Virginia Current CPR/First Aid certification 2-3 years nursing experience required Experience working with kids Camp nurses must have a current driver's license and be able to drive a Camper or Staff member as necessary.

Transporting campers and staff may be required. This job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. If a medical condition(s) exists, the staff member must be capable of performing all essential functions listed above and capable of "self-management" of his or her own condition. Duties and Responsibilities Camp Nurses help oversee all aspects of health care for Camp while working as a team with supporting head nurse (who is on/off site), any other supporting nurses, medical support staff (counselors) and Camp Directors. Camp Nurses as medical professionals for Camp but also collaborates, delegates and shares work duties as part of the Camp Medical Team. Serves as clinical resource for camp community Integrates knowledge, skills, and clinical experience to meet the needs of campers age 8-15 and staff members ages 15 and up; their families, and the community Provides care for well, injured and ill campers and staff Utilizes camp standards and guidelines for delivery of care Assists in organizing and maintaining the Camp Clinic Maintaining/checking inventory throughout Camp during the week: Clinic, White House First Aid Station, Lodge First Aid Station, Camp vehicles, and Staff First Aids Kits. Communicating with Camp Directors of any supply needs or restocking needs Maintain organization and confidentiality of camper and staff medical forms and information Assisting the Medical Team in screening and reviewing health forms ahead of camper arrival Camper check-in days: receiving and documenting camper medicines; present for camper arrival; available for parent questions and concerns. Maintaining documentation of medical care, incidents and keeping med logs and checking the logs daily for camper and staff visits for as needed care and daily medication log Maintains staff and camper confidential files and records Assist with accepting, stocking, organizing and storing of over the counter medications and prescription medications Administer over the counter medications and prescription medications when necessary Management, overseeing and administration of daily medication administration for Staff and Campers. Delegate appropriate tasks to supporting med team staff Communication with parents and counselors of injury or illness as needed Assisting with decision-making and logistics in the event that a camper, staff member, or a visitor needs a medical evaluation or treatment outside of Camp Assist and support illness (sick camper/staff rounds) and injury management Be a positive and supportive mentor to supporting staff Provides first aid to campers and staff: general first aid, head injuries, heat related incidents and dehydration, wound care/management like blisters, burns, cuts, scrapes, rashes, sun burns, bee stings, animal bites, common sicknesses (colds, flu, viruses, etc); caring for allergic reactions, anaphylactic allergies Attending any necessary staff meetings: Informing Lead Cabin counselors of which campers take medications and when, any allergies (food or otherwise), concerns they deem necessary and appropriate for the counselor to know. • The time in between medication administration during your Nurse Shift is spent by: floating around Camp making yourself available for medical issues, maintaining a presence on the White House porch (central Camp location), being accessible, doing inventory/stocking/purchasing, or meeting with other Staff.

The housing we offer our nurses is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom log cabin with great amenities (a/c, washer dryer, full kitchen, etc). There may be 1-2 other staff members living there or none, depending on the staffing needs for that week. All bedrooms are private. Camp nurses are supported by 2-6 unlicensed staff and counselors on the med team. These are typically students who are interested in nursing or medical related fields, taking related classes, are currently working toward or have received related training (MAT training, EMT training etc), and directly support the nurse. Camp nurses are always supported directly with our camp directors and we work closely together!•

• About Camp Varsity | Camp Culture The Camp Varsity summer program is a rustic, overnight summer camp serving youth ages 8-15 and encourages "back to play and back to nature" in a fun, un-plugged environment. We typically have anywhere from 130-150 campers per week along and average about 80 staff members a summer. Our summer program typically runs from late June
• early August and most of our days are spent fully outdoors.

We are located at the base of Shenandoah National Park in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. Camp Varsity values and respects Staff and campers from all backgrounds and walks of life.
