Job Description
Summary of Job Purpose The Campground Maintenance employee is primarily responsible for the daily and weekly maintenance of all campground facilities including restrooms, campsites, and booths. This work includes cleaning, trash removal, minor repairs to buildings and signs, guest interaction, driving and walking. A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift. Job Duties and Responsibilities This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and the qualifications for the position. When we do ask for your assistance with any job we expect an enthusiastic and cooperative response. Each day you will have specific work to perform which includes the following: Greet guests and answer any questions that they may have. Explain the campground layout and direct guests to campsites. Daily and weekly maintenance of restrooms, booths and campsites. Learn and follow the Dodge Ridge Safety Plan. Operate vehicles in and out of the campgrounds. Use and care of radio equipment Maintenance Schedule Daily Restroom Maintenance Clean toilet bowls, seats, and urinals. Ensure the interior is free of dirt, trash and graffiti. Ensure floor is free of standing water. Ensure sink is clean and functional. Toilet paper is stocked. Keep restroom odor free. Walls windows and mirrors cleaned. Sweep and clear walkways. Empty Garbage can ( if over ½ full ) Restroom perimeter free of litter.
Weekly Restroom Maintenance:
Wash exterior walls, eaves and windows. Eaves free of wasps nests, and cobwebs. Roof free of leaves and branches. Storage closets neat and stocked. Signs and bulletin boards fresh and up to date. Scrub down wash closets and sink.Daily Campsite Maintenance:
Ensure table tops and seats free of dirt grease and graffiti. Ensure tables are free of cobwebs on base. Remove ash from Bar-B-Q rings if over ½ full. Stack left over wood beside unit. Ensure Bar-B-Q rings functional. Grill surface of Bar-B-Q rings free of grease or dirt. Remove ashes or wood outside of Bar-B-Q rings. Remove any litter and trash. Trees free of nails, wire, rope, etc. Remove all tripping hazards. Barriers are straight and functional. Repair all directional and informative sign.Weekly Campsite Maintenance:
Sweep white line on parking pad so it is visible to campers. Clean all Bar-B-Q rings of ash and debris if over ½ full. 3. Sweep dumpster pads after the dumpsters have been dumped.MISCELLANEOUS TASKS
Somewhat unpredictable circumstances will determine how much of your work day will involve these types of activities. Maintaining clean workstations including emptying trash containers and sweeping floors. Sweeping or washing down work areas. Picking up litter throughout the complex. Minor maintenance on vehicles. Cleaning and caring for vehicles. Cleaning the break area after breaks. Able to lift 50 lbs or more. Maintain a neat and orderly work space. Assist other employees when asked. Properly store and maintain all tools. Give accurate information concerning the location of the facilities of the campgrounds. Job Qualifications Ability to work with others, be well groomed and present a good public image. Ability to work with a diverse public and to provide quality customer service. Ability to communicate well with others, both verbally and written. Must possess strong conflict resolution skills. Possess ability to multi-task, work independently, trouble shoot and prioritize. Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to work outdoors in a variety of work conditions. Ability to perform a variety of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and landscaping tasks. Safe working habits at all times and strict adherence to the Dodge Ridge Safety Policies. Ability to lift heavy objects with weights up to and in excess of 50 lbs. Good manual and physical dexterity and good physical fitness. Be punctual, honest, trustworthy and possess good judgment Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program. Job Attitudes Provide a positive and helpful attitude towards all our guests, the diverse general public, and all Dodge Ridge employees. Support the Company's policies and procedures. Ability to work positively with other campground employees and other staff members. Work Schedules Weather conditions and the number of guests play an important role in the scheduling of campground employees. When conditions are normal you can expect to work up to 40 hours per week. During busy periods you may be expected to work overtime if needed. You can expect to work most weekends and holidays when the campgrounds are open. You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your scheduled work station on time. As you arrange for transportation please keep in mind that you may be required to travel over hilly snow packed or icy surfaces, so schedule accordingly. Working Conditions Maintenance workers are often required to perform their tasks in bad weather. High winds, heavy snow falls, low visibility, rain and extremely cold or warm temperatures are just some of the weather conditions that you can expect to encounter at some time during the camping season. Uniforms To project a professional appearance at Dodge Ridge, your department requires a uniform be worn, including a nametag. Please wear both at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. (We strongly encourage you to contact your supervisor for a description of the quality, color, and style of the items you are required to provide before you purchase them.) Dodge Ridge will provide: Campground shirts.
