Canvasser - $30/hr SWU

Service Workers United is seeking motivated and outgoing individuals to join our canvassing team. This is a paid field position focused on community outreach, member engagement, and organizing support for workers' rights initiatives. As a Canvasser at SWU, you will speak directly with residents and workers in neighborhoods, public spaces, and events to educate people about campaigns, gather support through signatures, and help strengthen worker advocacy efforts. No prior canvassing experience is required but is preferred. We're looking for reliable people with strong communication skills and a passion for helping working communities. Responsibilities Conduct face-to-face outreach in assigned areas Engage community members in conversations about worker issues and campaigns Collect petition signatures, survey responses, or supporter information Represent Service Workers United professionally and respectfully Attend team trainings and daily briefings Meet outreach and engagement goals Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking with people in public settings Reliable transportation is a plus Ability to work outdoors and walk for extended periods Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply Passion for labor rights, community organizing, or advocacy preferred Compensation & Benefits $30/hour paid weekly Flexible scheduling options Full training provided Opportunities for advancement into leadership and organizing roles Work that directly impacts local communities and workers Schedule Day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend availability may be offered Full-time and part-time openings available
