None Position Summary The Security Captain is the primary ADC Representative at the FAA Site upholding our Company Commitment, Mission, and Core Values responsible for supervising the daily operations of the security team assigned to the FAA Site. The Captain ensures that all security orders, tasks, duties, instructions, policies, procedures and protocols are implemented and conducted for the protection, security and safeguarding of all FAA Assets; Property; Personnel; and Visitors . Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities Point of Contact
  • Serve as primary contact point between ADC and the FAA Site Alternate Technical Representative (ATR) and Facility Manager (FM) and must be available at all times to receive and implement orders or special instructions from the FAA Contract Officer (CO); Contract Officer Representative (COR); ATR and/or FM during routine or emergency situations concerning matters which affect the operation, protection and/or security of assigned areas.
Communication
  • Maintain excellent and effective communication with ADC Management; Security Officers and the FAA Site ATR and FM. Ensure communication is documented using proper documentation methods (i.e. email, letter or memo). Leadership
  • Lead by example and supervise the security team assigned to the FAA Site. Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork and exceptional customer service. Scheduling
  • Create a weekly Site Schedule for all active Security Officers. Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure proper security coverage of all required posts to maintain security presence 24/7. Provide the FAA Facility ATR and or FM with a current/updated list of available qualified security Officers assigned to the FAA site and Weekly Shift Schedules as required or requested. Security Compliance
  • Enforce compliance with all security orders, tasks, duties, instructions, policies, procedures and protocols in accordance with Facility Post Orders; Security Officer Manual (SOM); Facility Security Plan (FSP); and Occupancy Emergency Plan (OEP). Officer Compliance
  • Properly maintain the FAA On-Site Compliance Binder. Ensure Officers assigned to your site are compliant with all FAA Requirements (i.e. Physical/Medical Certifications; State Security Officer and Firearm Licenses; CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications; Non-Lethal Certifications; Firearm Qualification Certification; Lautenberg Certification; On-the Job and Refresher Training; etc.). Training
  • Provide Initial, Ongoing and Refresher On-the-Job Training for all Security Officers assigned to the FAA Site.
Training includes but is not limited to Security Duties, Orders, Tasks, Instructions, Policies, Procedures and Protocols as defined and described in Facility Post Orders; Security Officer Manual (SOM); Facility Security Plan (FSP); and Occupancy Emergency Plan (OEP). Ensure training is properly documented and submitted to Human Resources. Performance Management
  • Supervise officer work performance and attendance. Ensure work performance and attendance meets acceptable standards and expectations. Provide coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline as required according to the CBA and ADCs Policies and Procedures. Ensure Supervision and Performance Management is performed professionally and with impartiality. Security and Workplace Safety Incidents
  • Investigate and document Security and Safety related Incidents at the FAA Site.
Ensure proper completion, notification, and submission of required Security or Safety Incident Reports in accordance with the Facility Post Orders and Security Officer Manual. Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize security and safety incidents, theft, and property damage at the FAA Site. Facility Inspections and Assessments
  • Perform Monthly Site Inspections and Routine Security/Safety Assessments to identify and report potential Security and Safety risks, vulnerabilities, and threats within and around the FAA Site. Develop and implement strategies and preventive measures to eliminate, minimize, or mitigate security and safety incidents, theft, and property damage at the FAA Site. Personnel Inspections and Assessments
  • Perform Regular Security Officer Inspections on all shifts ensuring Uniform, Equipment, Weapon and Grooming standards and expectations are being met. Perform Routine Performance Assessments on all Officers ensuring performance standards and expectations are being met. Daily Activity Reporting
  • Ensure all Officers on each shift properly document all daily activities and events on the Daily Activities Report (DAR).
Review the Daily Activity Reports from all shifts and identify significant incidents, events or activities. Notate reportable incidents and/or activities for proper reporting the ADC Management; FAA ATR; FM and/or COR. Report Site Status to ADC Area Manager daily or as directed. Worksite Complaints
  • Receive and resolve complaints received from the COR; ATR and/or FM involving violations of security orders, tasks, duties, policies, procedures and protocols. Notify ADC Management and provide all relevant documentation of the complaint and actions taken to resolve and prevent future complaints. Fiscal Responsibilities
  • Control security expenses at the site. Monitor and manage daily and weekly overtime usage. Keep overtime usage to an absolute minimum. Administrative Duties and Functions
  • Create and post weekly schedules; Review and approve officer timecards in Dayforce; Supervise Quarterly Weapons Cleaning; Supervise Shift Changes; Maintain the FAA On-Site Compliance Binder; and all other administrative duties and tasks as required. Performs other supervisory duties and assignments as assigned. Security Duties and Responsibilities Access Control
  • Provide courteous, timely service while maintaining control of all Personnel and Vehicles entering the facility and deny entry of any unauthorized person(s), property, or vehicles to area(s) defined and described in in the Facility Post Orders, Security Plan and/or Task Order. Screening
  • Evaluate, process and screen all Visitors, V ehicles, Mail/Parcels and Hand Carried Items in possession of visitors using hand inspection and/or metal detection and x-ray equipment as provided, defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Broader or more detailed screening may be required as directed by the ATR in response to the security posture. Enforcement
  • Enforce facility Rules and Regulations as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Visitor Processing and Temporary Badges
  • Issue Visitor Badges, Temporary Passes and Temporary Badges to visitors, government employees, contractors and vendors as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Patrol
  • Conduct Roving Patrols of Facility Buildings, Grounds and Perimeter as specified, defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Investigate
  • Investigate and take appropriate actions on all Accidents, Safety/Security Incidents, Trespassing and Suspicious Activities occurring in and on the facility as defined and described in Facility Post Orders. Emergency Response
  • Respond and take appropriate action to Security Alarms and Emergency Situations in or at the facility as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders Video Surveillance
  • M onitor, record and analyze activity in and around the facility utilizing Facility Surveillance Equipment as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Building & Vehicle Inspections
  • Conduct building and vehicle inspections as defined and described in Facility Post Orders. Traffic, Parking, and Pedestrian Control
  • Direct and control traffic, parking and pedestrians as defined and described in Facility Post Orders. Gate/Building Openings
  • Conduct the opening and closing of gate(s) and building(s) as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders Key/Access Control Cards/Combination Control
  • Receive, secure, issue and account for all keys/access cards or combinations as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Communications
  • K eep in constant communication with the Security Team, Facility Manager, and ATR utilizing communication equipment and devices (i.e. two-way radios) as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Incident/Activity Reporting
  • Immediately report daily significant Security or Safety Incidents and Activities to the Site Supervisor, Facility Manager, ATR, FAA

  • Complete Incident Reports to properly document all daily significant Safety and Security Incidents that occur on shift as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Daily Activity Reports
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR) for each shift worked. Properly document all daily activity and events that occur on your shift as defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Miscellaneous Duties
  • Conduct various miscellaneous duties such as escort services, execution of colors, lost and found, etc.
as directed by the Facility Manager/ATR and/or defined and described in the Facility Post Orders. Performs other duties and assignments as assigned. Works under general supervision and the guidance of the Contract Program Manager and ADC Management for ADC Policies, Procedures and Codes of Conduct. Supervises Security Officers assigned to the FAA Site. Required Skills and Abilities Strong leadership and supervision skill, adept at inspiring and efficiency supervising the security team. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to analyze intricate security issues and devise effective solutions. Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal finesse, confidently engaging with individuals at all organizational levels. Expertise in security principals, encompassing risk assessment, threat analysis, and emergency response planning. Meticulous attention to detail and a composed demeanor during hi-pressure emergency scenarios. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Skilled at task prioritization and meeting deadlines. Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, stair climbing, and stooping up to twelve (12) hours either indoors or outdoors, during daytime or nighttime. Outdoor posts may require an individual to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and/or severe weather (e.g., snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind). Frequent contact with general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center. Required to requiring an ability to speak clearly and distinctly; meet and deal with the public in a positive manner; exercise sound judgement; remain calm and maintain poised and self-control under stressful situations (e.g., confrontations with angry, distraught, disturbed, or violent persons). Ability to remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or relieving bladder/bowels. Ability to remain alert for up to twelve (12) hours with the ability to mentally and physically react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations. Use of senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch) is necessary to discern unusual or dangerous situations. Ability to use post security equipment, e.g. (metal detectors, X-rays, CCTV, computerized security system, etc.). Ability to use handcuffs, baton, O.C. and assigned weapon) at any time while on duty. Ability speak and understand the English language fluently. Ability to read and understand written English reports, post orders, post assignments, guidelines and instructions. Ability to write English reports that are grammatically correct and technically accurate. Ability to acknowledge and respond to both routine and emergency incidents/activities/dispatches/orders. Ability to subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals, or intervene in a crisis (e.g., provide emergency First Aid and/or resuscitation while waiting for arrival of paramedics or other emergency personnel). Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, climbing stairs (e.g., in responding to emergencies, ensuring timely and complete facility evacuations, giving pursuit, etc.). Must maintain an acceptable level of mental and physical fitness to perform the required skills and abilities Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience Must be at least 21 years of age.   • High School Diploma from a duly accredited institution or a State Issued GED. Minimum Experience
  • Must meet one (1) or more of the following
Security Experience Requirements:
Three (3) years of security guard experience within the past five (5) years OR Associates Degree in security related field plus one (1) years of security guard experience OR Three (3) years of U.S. military experience with honorable service and/or discharge OR Successful completion of a State Certified Police Officer's Standard Training (POST) Certification Course OR Possess a reasonable combination of one (1) through three (3) as approved by the FAA COR. Minimum Supervisor Experience
  • Must have two (2) years of facility protection experience at a level commensurate with the FAA scope of work.
Must possess and maintain CPR, First Aid, AED Certification from the American Red Cross. Must possess and maintain Non-Lethal (baton; handcuffs; O.C. and Defensive Tactics Certifications from an ADC authorized provider. Must possess and maintain Firearm Qualification Certification with your assigned ADC weapon from an ADC and FAA authorized provider. Must pass a pre-employment Suitability Investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Badge by successfully passing the required Federal Background Check. Possess a valid state issued driver's license. Medical/Physical Requirements Security Officer at FAA Facilities must be physically able to perform all job tasks, functions, and responsibilities outlined in this job description. Security Officers must successfully pass the designated Physical Examination and Physical Agility Tests at an ADC Approved Medical Facility. Minimum Medical Requirements for FAA Security Officers are as follows: Must successfully complete an extensive medical/physical examination for pre-employment and every three (3) years thereafter. Must successfully complete illegal drug testing for pre-employment and every three (3) years thereafter. May be selected for random illegal drug testing each quarter or Government requested illegal drug testing as requested. Must successfully complete the following physical agility tests for pre-employment and every three (3) years thereafter: 40 lbs Deadlift from the floor to your waist, 1 repetition. Bench Press or Modified Incline Push-up (40% of your bodyweight), 1 repetition. Exercise Stress Test on treadmill for six (6) minutes. Obtain/maintain Aerobic Capacity of 9 METs. Must not have any disease or medical condition that interferes with body systems and functions and the safe efficient performance of security officer duties and responsibilities. Body Systems and Functions include Vision, Hearing, Speech, Cardiovascular, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Endocrine, Metabolic, Hematological, Neurological, Psychiatric, and Dermatological.
