Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Busy Interventional Cardiology practice looking for a dynamic, motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join us on a full-time basis. Working under the general direction of collaborating physicians, the advanced practice clinician provides direct care to patients in a high volume clinical service. The practitioner should be comfortable seeing patients with the supervising cardiologist and administering care in a collaborative, team based approach. Prior experience with nursing in a cardiac unit or in a cardiovascular practice is required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- but not limited to the following Supervise the performance of stress tests Follows and manages patients in collaboration with an attending physician in the office and hospital settings. Performs and records the patient history and physical exam. Utilizes knowledge & training to identify, prevent or solve complex and/or recurring patient care problems. Collaborates with physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources. Administering IV diuretics in heart failure clinic. Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care. Maintains the standards, required credentials, and educational requirements specific to the position. Certification in advanced practice nursing or physician assistant Certification in Basic Life Support Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support Demonstrated competence in providing cardiac care Effective communicator with the ability to transfer knowledge (orally and in writing) Strong Ethics Computer skills to support administrative and clinical tasks, to include EHR & Microsoft Office applications Salary
