Job Description

Job Overview Full-Time | $21.00-$26.00/hour | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Are you passionate about helping individuals build meaningful careers? The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (SWPIC) is seeking a Career Specialist to provide employment and training services to individuals through career exploration, job readiness activities, and job placement support. This position builds strong connections between job seekers, schools, and employers to support successful education, training, and employment outcomes while promoting career pathways in high-demand industries. Responsibilities
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants according to program requirements
  • Conduct assessments of participant skills, interests, barriers, and job readiness
  • Develop and monitor individualized employment and training plans
  • Provide case management, career coaching, job search, and follow-up support
  • Maintain documentation in a case management system to ensure compliance
  • Meet enrollment, participation, and employment outcome goals
  • Build collaborative relationships with community partners, schools, & employers
  • Maintain knowledge of programs/services available in the area and referral process Qualifications
  • Associate degree or related experience in social services, counseling, human services, social work, psychology, human resources, business, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license & ability to travel occasionally within multi-county service area
  • Experience in human services, case management, or eligibility work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual skills preferred
