Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. In this vital role, you will promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance the quality of life for those you serve. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. This paid position offers an opportunity to work in diverse environments such as assisted living facilities, home care, group homes, nursing homes, or hospice settings. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, rolling, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and updates to care plans. Support patients with intellectual disabilities, and cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia through memory care techniques and personalized engagement strategies. Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning living areas to promote a safe and hygienic environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each individual's needs. Be able to utilize CPR and First Aid skills promptly in emergency situations to ensure patient safety. Follow all protocols related to home & community care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Skills Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on senior or long-term care. Strong knowledge of patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care planning. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or autism spectrum disorder. Competence in basic caregiving tasks including meal preparation, light cleaning, and assisting with ADLs. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; ongoing training is required. Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to handle challenging situations calmly.
