This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn the carpentry trade while gaining hands-on experience in framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and general construction practices. The ideal candidate is punctual, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working with tools and materials in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Assist journeyman carpenter with daily construction tasks Load, unload, and organize tools and materials Measure, cut, and prepare materials as directed Assist with framing, siding, drywall backing, blocking, and finish work Maintain clean and safe job sites Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely Follow instructions and construction plans accurately Help with demolition and site preparation as needed Support installation of doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and hardware Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times Qualifications Construction or carpentry experience preferred but not required Basic knowledge of hand and power tools Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred Ability to take direction and work as part of a team Punctual and dependable attendance Preferred Skills Familiarity with residential construction Ability to read a tape measure accurately Experience with saws, drills, nail guns, and layout tools Basic understanding of job site safety practices Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunity for advancement and trade training Overtime opportunities available Paid holidays/vacation (if applicable) Tool allowance or training support (optional) Typical Work Environment Residential remodels and new construction Indoor and outdoor job sites Physical labor including lifting, climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
