Cashier/Sales Associate

Overview We are seeking a friendly and reliable store assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a keen attention to detail. As a store assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional customer service for our customers while efficiently handling transactions, taking orders, and maintaining the checkout area. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed to enhance their shopping experience. Accurately process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring all cash handling procedures are followed. Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to effectively upsell products and services. Taking orders for the deli, writing tickets and waiting on customers Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring accurate change is given. Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to maintain a neat and inviting checkout area. Address customer inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when necessary. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accuracy in all financial dealings. Weekends/Holidays Required Experience Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and retail math is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively. Basic knowledge of sales techniques and upselling strategies is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
