Job Description
What you need to know about this position: Recognized as one of the top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson Health , our nurses partner with cardiologists to treat heart patients and peripheral vascular disease. Our Cardiac Cath unit includes 3 Cath labs and 9 outpatient rooms, and our team plans for 7 cases per day. The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory - Invasive Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist is responsible for proper radiation safety measures within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Including but not limited to timely posting of Radiation Safety Reports, distribution and collection of radiation safety badges for employees, and proper maintenance of radiation safety equipment and shielding to minimize radiation exposure for anyone within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory area. Assists the physician in the surgical procedure, maintaining sterility, and properly operating equipment needed for procedure. Circulate within the procedure room and procure equipment needed for any given procedure. Position the patient, select radiation exposure parameters and image the patient. A Cath Lab - Invasive Radiologic Technologist in this department will have an hourly base rate of $28.21. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions. In this full-time position, you would be scheduled to work 40 weekly hours, 7:30am-4:00pm, with a weekend, holiday and on-call rotation. This position has a call requirement to be a part of a 4-person team for evenings, weekends, and holidays. With at least 16 hours per week, this position is benefit eligible. What is required for this position: Upon hire, you must have: Associate's degree (A.A.), or equivalent from a two-year college, or hospital based school of Radiologic Technology required. Any and all must be approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Previous Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience preferred Indiana X-Ray Machine Operators License Registration from American Registry of Radiologic Technology Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification This position requires frequent standing, walking, talking and listening and lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
