Implants Impella Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. This vital role involves providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, exceptional technical skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient-centered care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play an integral role in supporting complex cardiac procedures, ensuring patient safety, and promoting optimal outcomes through meticulous assessment and intervention. Responsibilities Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures by conducting thorough assessments, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety. Assist physicians during invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placements, and other interventional cardiology treatments. Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic parameters continuously throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes. Administer medications including sedation, analgesics, and contrast agents following prescribed protocols while adhering to aseptic techniques. Manage post-procedure care by observing for complications such as bleeding or arrhythmias, providing wound care, and ensuring patient stability during recovery. Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Skills Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure; additional certification in Cardiac Care or Critical Care preferred. Extensive experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center or hospital setting with exposure to invasive cardiovascular procedures. Proficiency in operating EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding and documentation standards. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to cardiovascular health, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in aseptic technique, medication administration including IV infusion, suturing, and catheter care. Experience with laboratory procedures such as specimen collection/processing and contrast media management.
