28373 Position Summary Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for the Cath lab patient population. Responsibilities- Responsible for professional interactions with multiple departments to ensure safe patient care
- A wide degree of creativity, latitude and critical thinking is expected
- Position requires on-call availability on a regular basis for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- The ability to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes of a call in is a requirement
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- BSN required
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required
- Licensed RN with a minimum 3 years' patient-facing RN experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
- All non-BSN RN's with less than 3 years' patient-facing RN experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
- State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho prior to start date
- Previous experience in a Cath lab, critical care, or emergency room setting is required. Equivalent procedural experience may be considered at the discretion of the hiring manager
- Competency in procedural sedation, cardiac medication administration, and cardiac monitoring are required
- Confidence in reporting to physician changes in patient status and needs to care for patients in potentially emergent situations are essential
- BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
- ACLS Required Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
