Staff Nurse Program:
Island Counseling Center (ICC)
Classification:

00 Reports to:
Chief Clinical Officer Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer and Medical Director, The Nurse coordinates functions related to patient care and education, including monitoring of lab results, administration of injectable medications, coordinating the ordering and administration of medication, and supporting DPH and BSAS required educational activities.
Essential Functions:
    LABS:
    monitor ANC, Lithium levels, thyroid and hormone levels: related to side effects of medication
    • for all clients within agency
    Infectious Disease Risk:
    review documents, refer PRN to MD, teaching for clients that are considered high or moderate risk
    Vivitrol:
    order all medication, administer/ educate and teach clients. Ensure appropriate ID (bracelet, cards, dog tag) check that LFT's are on file, monitor
    PRN Clozapine:
    monitor all clients on clozapine, Clozapine
    REMS, F/U
    abnormal labs, contact providers about protocols in regards to starting and stopping medication. Contact pharmacy's for new RX MassPat all clients within suboxone group Meet with clients regarding Long Acting Injectables. Order medication and provide psychoeducation. Discuss and collaborate with providers additional medication as needed.
    Order all supplies:
    tox screens, syringes, needles, first aid kits Monitor AED monthly, Fridge with each shift Annual FLU shots: order FLU set up clinic time for all staff in all agencies to receive FLU vaccine: document, notify hospital of vaccination for any clinician that goes over
    • fax to providers Follow up with suboxone clients as requested per provider In-services as requested Act as a member of the Muti-Disciplinary Team model to support client and team outcomes.
    Review Infectious Disease Screenings and coordinate appropriate follow up as needed. Consult with staff about clients as requested by clinicians.
    EX:
    meds, infectious diseases, questions about Vivitrol Medication prior authorization for all clients
    Qualifications:
    Successful completion of an approved nursing program. Current approval by Board of Nursing to perform all nursing duties and adherence to all regulatory standards. 2 to 5 years experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting preferred. Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state.
