POSITION OVERVIEW DEFTEC

Corporation is seeking a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Senior Scientist to support threat analysis operations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD). This position is located at the St. Elizabeths Campus in Washington, D.C. and is on-site. The Senior Scientist will serve as an all-source intelligence analyst and subject matter expert (SME), producing finished intelligence products, supporting high-level executive briefings, and engaging with interagency partners across the federal government and Intelligence Community (IC). This role demands a scientist with deep CBRN domain expertise who can translate complex technical and intelligence data into actionable analysis for senior decision-makers.

Conduct daily unclassified and classified intelligence reporting of CBRN threats to the Homeland in support of

on interagency biosurveillance and threat reporting calls Participate in IC and interagency forums to discuss current CBRN threats Engage with federal, state, and local partners to share situational awareness and support CWMD mission requirements Conduct peer review of draft intelligence products to ensure analytical rigor and tradecraft compliance Develop and deliver subject matter expertise in support of CWMD training requirements Coordinate and manage the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations in support of

Required Qualifications:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance; must be able to operate in a SCIF environment on-site at St. Elizabeths Campus B.A. or M.S. in a scientific, engineering, medical, veterinary, or public health field Minimum 10 years of experience in a scientific, engineering, medical, veterinary, or public health field 4+ years supporting major programs or system development efforts related to human, animal, or plant health and the medical consequences of CBRN events; or equivalent experience across HS pillars of prevention, protection, response, and recovery Demonstrated experience producing all-source finished intelligence products at the classified level in compliance with IC analytic tradecraft standards Proficiency with the
