CDL A Relief / Fill-in Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable CDL A Relief / Fill-in Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will serve as a flexible driver ready to step in for scheduled routes or cover absences, ensuring seamless delivery operations across various freight types. Your expertise will keep our delivery schedules on track, providing exceptional service while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions, including end dump, roll-off trucks, hopper bottoms, and other specialized freight vehicles. Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Deliver freight accurately along designated routes, adhering to schedules and safety protocols. Provide relief coverage for primary drivers by filling in on various routes and shifts as needed. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly. Be available to cover a position at any time (most times will be planned in advance but some may not be) Flexibility is key Skills Proven experience driving commercial vehicles with manual transmissions in diverse environments. Minimum of 1yr Knowledge of operating roll-off, hopper bottom, end dump or van and other specialized trucks. Strong understanding of load securement, freight handling, and route driving best practices. Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual methods when required. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with federal and state regulations. Familiarity with truck driving equipment such as end dumps and roll-off trucks is required. Capable of adapting quickly to different vehicle types and delivery scenarios while maintaining high safety standards. Pay:

$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
