Thursday, June 19, 2026 (11:59pm) Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Center Director for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois. An Ideal candidate will support the values and vision of the agency and have a passion and ability to advocate and enable growth in our individuals. The incumbent will direct, review and enforce standards of individual care, treatment and training to verify such treatment is in accordance with current Illinois and Federal Laws, DHS policies and regulations, local facility policies applicable Accreditation Standards as well as those publicized by other accrediting agencies. The Ludeman Developmental Center serves adults with developmental disabilities who have several medical and/or behavioral needs. Essential Functions Serves as Facility Director for Ludeman Developmental Center. Directs, reviews, and enforces standards of care, treatment, and training in accordance with Illinois and Federal laws, DHS policies and regulations, local facility policies and applicable Accreditation Standards. Serves as full-line supervisor. Directs and provides administrative management and direction to Plant Operations, Community Placement Services, Human Resources, Fiscal Services, Medical Services, and Internal Investigations. Works cooperatively with the South Suburban Network facilitator. Encourages community participation in Center programs to verify public understanding ofdevelopmental disabilities programs and coordinates with professional organizations to raisestandards of professional skills in treatment, prevention, training and research by speaking before various groups to solicit understanding, appreciation and assistance for all mentalhealth programs. Performs other duties as assigned or required, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college. Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a social or human services organization, preferably within a Mental Health or Developmental Disabilities Organization. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of professional experience organizing, administering and evaluating on going services in a multi-disciplinary operation. Five (5) years of professional experience interacting with and communicating in oral and written form with internal and external stakeholders including the use of computers. Five (5) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance tosubordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargainingagreements, training staff, preparing and signing performance evaluations and approving timeoff. Five (5) years of professional experience developing and interpreting policies and proceduresfor a public or private organization. Five (5) years of professional experience working with Federal and State standards andregulations relative to residential care and treatment programs. Five (5) years of professional experience developing strategic plans, long and short-term goalsfor a residential treatment program. Five (5) years of professional experience interpreting, recommending and designing andimplementing staffing plans for a public or private organization. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in clinical socialwork, psychology, medicine, hospital administration or a closely related field. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to work on call, after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to thisposition. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employmentduring state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, theemployee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of theExecutive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subjectto a fine. This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the IllinoisGovernmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of EconomicInterest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain stateofficials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of theSecretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. Allemployees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file theSupplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (SeeExecutive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
