Job Summary This position exists to process all incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail according to established Department of Corrections and MCF-Willow River/Moose Lake policy and procedures, and U.S. Postal regulations. Ensure contraband and unallowable items do not enter or leave the facility through the mailroom or warehouse. Provide assistance to the Warehouse in ordering supplies and control consumable inventory, materials and other state owned property necessary for the operation of this medium custody facility. Under general supervision, assists with purchasing, stocking and issuing supplies and materials to all facility departments as needed. Serve as the Location Inventory Coordinator. Provide back up services to the Central Services Administrative Specialist Intermediate. These activities have a potential impact on the security of the facility and must be performed with that understanding. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Leadwork skills to set work priorities, arrange staff coverage to meet workload needs, initiate work assignments, and resolve work-related issues. Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy. Math skills sufficient to perform basic math calculations to process and review orders. Data entry skills sufficient to enter and update data in computer applications and DOC-specific systems such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other mailroom applications and Correctional Operations Management System (COMS). Word processing skills (preferably Microsoft Word) sufficient to prepare documents that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors. Skills in using spreadsheet software (preferably Microsoft Excel) sufficient to enter and update spreadsheets. English language skills sufficient to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, and sufficient to read and understand a variety of documents. Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to other staff, offenders, and members of the public over the phone and in-person. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position. Experience providing work direction to others. Experience working in a warehouse in shipping and receiving. Experience working in a mailroom in a large organization. Knowledge of iTag, COMS and/or JPay. Knowledge of DOC policies related to mailroom. Physical Requirements The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position and may be required to complete a tuberculosis screening.
