  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated first shift Certified Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including Paccar, Detroit, Cummings, various garbage trucks, heavy equipment machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity for technicians passionate about garbage trucks and heavy equipment repair and eager to work with diverse machinery in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as garbage trucks, excavators, forklifts, tractors, trailers and other industrial machinery by utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Replace or repair components including shocks, brake systems, tires, electrical systems, and welding repairs to ensure optimal performance. Interpret technical schematics and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Execute precise assembly and disassembly of equipment parts during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, tire services, and DOT inspections to prolong equipment lifespan. Provide excellent teamwork and communication by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring work is completed efficiently and thoroughly. Experience Proven experience or extensive background working with heavy machinery repair is highly required. Demonstrated ability in fabrication, welding, soldering, and working with schematics for complex mechanical systems. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair along with expertise in transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems. Skilled in repair techniques including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, electrical diagnostics, and general vehicle maintenance. Mechanical aptitude combined with experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly or repair tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills complemented by customer service experience to ensure client satisfaction during service interactions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining a focus on safety regulations at all times.
