Job Description

Job Summary Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. (Louisville site) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, delivering high-quality patient service, and supporting healthcare providers across outpatient and inpatient environments. Your expertise in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and various clinical procedures will contribute to providing exceptional care to our patients. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including recording medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as preparing patients for examinations, administering medications under supervision, and supporting minor procedures. Operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient interactions, diagnoses, ICD coding, and treatment plans. Support laboratory functions by collecting specimens, preparing samples for testing, Manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized patient records. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards in all clinical activities. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a comfortable environment for patients of all ages including geriatrics Assist with medication administration within scope of practice and support hospital medicine or emergency medicine teams during urgent or trauma situations at Level I or Level II trauma centers. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or medical-surgical units is highly preferred. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in outpatient or inpatient settings. Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers; clinic experience is advantageous. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; additional certifications Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
