Job Description

Company Overview At Palmetto Internal Medicine and Primary Care, we are a small, well‑structured practice with a predictable schedule and a supportive team environment. Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, engaged, and certified Medical Assistant to join our patient‑centered team. The ideal candidate is motivated, compassionate, and committed to delivering high‑quality care in a fast‑paced clinical environment. We value individuals who take initiative, communicate proactively, and show consistency in their work and attendance. Responsibilities Assist physicians and healthcare providers with daily clinical tasks Perform patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature) Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while ensuring comfort and clear communication Perform basic lab tests, EKGs, urine analysis, and assist with physicals Administer medications and injections as directed Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in the EMR/EHR Support ICD coding and documentation for accurate billing Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Provide warm, clear patient education and exceptional customer service Assist with basic in‑office diagnostic procedures (e.g., X‑ray, if applicable) Skills & Experience Understanding of adult disease processes and patient care needs Familiarity with approved medical abbreviations and accurate spelling Ability to work professionally with non‑cooperative or complex patients Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills Flexible and adaptable to varied clinical assignments Strong customer service and professional telephone etiquette Basic computer proficiency; EMR experience a plus Physical Demands Moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 10 lbs and periods of standing, walking, or sitting. Frequent phone and computer use.
