This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nurses, and patients to ensure smooth clinical operations. As a CMA, you will utilize your comprehensive medical knowledge and administrative skills to support outpatient and inpatient services, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining efficient clinic workflows. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including recording medical histories and vital signs to prepare patients for examinations. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and preparing patients for procedures like X-ray or minor surgeries. Support hospital medicine and emergency medicine teams by managing patient documentation, ICD coding, and basic life support protocols. Operate EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems accurately to document patient encounters, test results, and treatment plans. Conduct routine diagnostic tests and assist with procedures in outpatient clinics or inpatient units, including Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining treatment instructions, and ensuring comfort during visits. Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital policies while supporting medical-surgical care, internal medicine cases, or OR (Operating Room) procedures. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program; current certification required. Demonstrated experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine or related specialties preferred. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic diagnostic tests. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and Level I/II trauma center operations is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient environments. Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical settings such as geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or the PICU.
