Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Certified Natural Gas Operator and play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of natural gas pipeline systems. In this energetic position, you will oversee the monitoring and control of natural gas flow, perform equipment inspections, and respond swiftly to operational needs. Your mechanical knowledge and technical expertise will help maintain optimal system performance while adhering to safety standards. Duties Operate and monitor pipeline systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure continuous, safe gas flow. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, including valves, compressors, and control systems, identifying maintenance needs or potential issues. Perform heavy lifting and equipment repairs as needed to maintain system integrity and prevent operational disruptions. Operate heavy equipment safely for pipeline maintenance, installation, or repair projects in compliance with safety protocols. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot system malfunctions, perform repairs, and ensure optimal equipment performance. Monitor pipeline operations through control room interfaces, responding promptly to alarms or irregularities. Follow safety procedures diligently during all operations, including performing safety checks before maintenance activities and emergency responses. Skills Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in pipeline operations. Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation relevant to oil & gas pipeline projects. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to flow rates, pressure levels, and system diagnostics. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling tools or equipment during maintenance tasks. Familiarity with pipeline safety standards and best practices within the oil & gas industry.
