Available shifts- Mon-Fri 5p-11p Mon-Thurs 11p-9a (male) Sat and Sun 9a-11p (female) Mon-Fri 8:30a-5p at day program Job Summary UI Rehab is seeking compassionate, responsible, and reliable personal care assistants. The Certified Nursing Assistant position is relied upon for ethical implementation of services and support. You are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties and to respond to emergency situations. Since you will be working with people, you must be prepared to effectively deal with emergencies, assignments, hours of work, and philosophical commitment. Your actions will affect another person's life, and it is expected you will be a positive role model. Since you will be interacting with numerous professionals on a frequent basis, you are expected to represent yourself and Universal Institute in a positive, professional manner at all times. You will be a part of the clients' interdisciplinary team. Universal Institute is a leading provider of rehabilitation and supportive-living services to individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries, and other neurological conditions. Our home and community-based platform offers Client-centered services with concentration of Activities of Daily Living and Community Reintegration. In addition to physical impairments, our population often has difficulty with attention, concentration, memory, organizational skills, perception, expressing feelings, and at times inappropriate behaviors. At UI Rehab, our objective is to encourage our Clients to work toward their personal goals while developing and maintaining the self-assurance to live as independently as possible. Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper medication documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or memory care needs, utilizing techniques such as aseptic procedures and behavioral health strategies. Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, supporting complex patient needs including infectious disease management and post-acute care. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and wound care while maintaining strict infection control standards. Support patient safety by operating equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensuring proper body mechanics during transfers and mobility assistance. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with patient service tasks, and uphold confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Skills Maintains friendly and open demeanor at all times. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to think quickly and remain level-headed in an emergency. Basic math skills. Ability to work in a demanding situation, changing focus of work due to changing priorities. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain responsibility for work performed.
Pay:
$20.50 - $26.50 per hour
