Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) specializing in skilled nursing facilities (SNF). In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care, helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life. Your expertise will support a diverse patient population, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and those recovering from acute or outpatient care. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), developing care plans, and applying physiology and anatomy knowledge make a real difference every day. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence Implement and modify individualized care plans under the supervision of occupational therapists Support patients in inpatient skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings Use your understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to accurately document patient progress Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts by providing detailed updates on patient status and response to therapy Help facilitate therapeutic activities tailored to each patient's needs, including geriatrics and pediatrics populations Maintain a safe environment by adhering to facility protocols and infection control procedures Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health settings Strong knowledge of occupational health principles, medical imaging basics, and medical terminology Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Familiarity with care planning processes and interdisciplinary team collaboration Ability to apply physiology and anatomy knowledge effectively during therapy sessions Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting recovery and independence Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication transforms lives!
