Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence Implement and modify individualized care plans under the supervision of occupational therapists Support patients in inpatient skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings Use your understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to accurately document patient progress Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts by providing detailed updates on patient status and response to therapy Help facilitate therapeutic activities tailored to each patient's needs, including geriatrics and pediatrics populations Maintain a safe environment by adhering to facility protocols and infection control procedures Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health settings Strong knowledge of occupational health principles, medical imaging basics, and medical terminology Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Familiarity with care planning processes and interdisciplinary team collaboration Ability to apply physiology and anatomy knowledge effectively during therapy sessions Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting recovery and independence Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication transforms lives!
