Leading the Transition Sixth grade is a milestone year. It is the bridge between the foundational years of elementary and the independence of middle school. We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate Teacher who specializes in this unique stage of development—helping students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to transform." As part of the Ferguson-Florissant "New Chapter," you won't just be teaching 6th graders; you will be helping them find their voice in a larger world. Role Summary As a 6th Grade Teacher, you will lead a classroom within one of our two dedicated 6th Grade Centers. You will facilitate a rigorous, student-centered environment that focuses on analytical reading, narrative and expository writing, and collaborative discussion. Working as part of a specialized 6th-grade team, you will help students navigate their first year of a departmentalized schedule while maintaining a strong sense of community and support. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (1-6) OR Middle School Science (5-9).Degree Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required; Master's degree, preferred.Transition Specialist:
