We are a collaborative team that values continuing education, open communication, and a patient-first culture. We're looking for a dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Role overview As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will work alongside our veterinarians to deliver exceptional medical care across all stages of patient visits — from triage and diagnostics to treatment and client education. This role is critical to the smooth day-to-day operations of our hospital and the wellbeing of every patient we serve. Key responsibilities Perform physical exams, collect samples, and assist with diagnostics including bloodwork, urinalysis, radiographs, and ultrasound Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia; maintain accurate anesthetic records throughout all procedures Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian; maintain accurate medication and controlled substance logs Provide nursing care including wound management, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and post-operative monitoring Educate and communicate with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive wellness Maintain thorough and accurate medical records in practice management software; support front desk as needed Requirements Active CVT license in the state of Illinois (required) Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, radiology, and surgical assistance Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, client-centered communication style Ability to handle animals safely and humanely, including those that are fearful or in pain Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred qualifications 1+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary practice setting Experience with practice management software Interest in dentistry, internal medicine, or surgery — mentorship available
