Jun 5, 2026 Be an early applicant Required Years of Experience 3 years Job Details We are looking for someone to lead our busy kitchen at a small hotel in Darien as the Chef Manager. Restaurant experience is a must. Cooking ability and experience required as well. Managerial/supervisory experience necessary. We serve breakfast, lunch & dinner 7 days a week about 350 days a year. Groups range from 10 to 150 guests. Meals are mainly buffet style and we take great pride in providing delicious meals at our establishment. Responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and attractive meals to the guests. Will be responsible for meal planning, employee scheduling, ordering food and supplies, leading staff, and training new staff. Most importantly leading our staff of 10-15 with integrity and skill. Cleanliness in the dining room and kitchen areas are stressed, as well as friendly and courteous behavior toward our guests. Must be able to handle several tasks at once. General working kitchen conditions with some lifting but not over 30 lbs. This position would be flexible and hours would always be between 7AM-8PM. Must be able to work weekends & approximately 40 hours per week. Excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, & life insurance. We also offer a 100% employer paid pension. Pay range $24-$27 hourly Responsibilities and Duties of All Kitchen Staff Make sure meals are prepared properly and served on time. Make sure the kitchen, serving and dining areas are clean. Storing leftover food properly. Clean dining room tables and reset for the next meal. Serve and be courteous and polite to all guests. Serve them with a smile. Refill all supplies, be certain guests' needs are taken care of at serving time. Wash dishes and put away. Refill and take supplies to meeting rooms and dining rooms for coffee stations. Qualifications and Skills - Excellent organizational skills, with a professional attitude, appearance and behavior. Friendly demeanor to assist our guests. Able to problem solve, and have a rational judgment on unexpected requests. Ability to effectively communicate with guests, staff and supervisory personnel. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and the highest ethical standards. A mature & pleasant approach to the job responsibilities, including: honesty, positivity, respect, and cleanliness. Human relations skills to deal effectively with guests in person. Ability to work independently and effectively manage time. Ability and willingness to work with others as a team player.Compensation Details Compensation:
