Job Title:
Chemical Operator Job Description The Chemical Operator measures, mixes, and packages chemical products while following detailed batch instructions and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role operates coating machinery, manages raw materials, and ensures accurate labeling of finished products. The position requires careful documentation, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to safety procedures in a production environment. Responsibilities Follow batch sheet instructions accurately and record all required production data and documentation. Measure, mix, and prepare chemical products according to specified formulations. Package chemical products into various container sizes while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Manage raw materials using a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory system to ensure proper material rotation. Print and apply product labels using a computer and labeling equipment, ensuring correct information and placement. Operate coating machinery safely and efficiently, monitoring equipment during operation. Perform in-line quality control inspections to verify product quality and consistency. Use sewing and industrial sewing equipment, as needed, to assemble or finish products according to specifications. Read and interpret assembly blueprints, models, and drawings for barriers, racks, and related components. Use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools to complete mechanical and assembly tasks accurately. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding chemical hazards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area in compliance with workplace standards. Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality problems promptly to the appropriate personnel. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process improvements. Participate in onboarding and training activities, including approximately two weeks of shadowing and hands-on learning. Consistently meet performance expectations based on output and quality, such as producing completed barriers within established standards. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations. Perform additional related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
