Job Description

POSITION
Chief Financial Officer SALARY:
$47 per hour
SUPERVISOR
Wind River Inter-Tribal Council (WRITC)
LOCATION
15 North Fork Rd., Fort Washakie, WY 82514 GENERAL
STATEMENT
Responsible for managing the financial actions of the WRITC. Preference will be given to enrolled Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the compliance of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial rules and standards for financial reporting. Manages policies, budgeting, training and regular assessments of financial procedures. Creates strategic business plans based on analyzing historical data and financial forecasting versus actuals. Day-to-day financial operations (Payroll, Purchasing, Payments). Performs monthly bank reconciliations. Prepares business activity reports, financial statements and forecasts. Develops financial reporting systems. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial closeouts and reporting. Makes journal entries for monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations. Ensures all year-end accounts are properly reconciled and ready for Financial Audit. Participates in strategic data analysis, research and modeling for leadership. Any and all necessary duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND EVALUATION FACTORS SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO
Ability to prove financial, accounting and auditing experience. Ability to prove county, state and federal contracts, budgets and grants. Ability to work efficiently with financial technologies, practices and procedures. Ability to quickly learn and/or adapt to the MIP program. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. Ability to maintain dependable attendance, reliability and productivity. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information processed through
WRITC. QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to enrolled Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho members. Must have an Associate's degree in an accounting/finance field. At least five (5) years of successful work experience in advanced accounting and auditing practices. At least five (5) years of Oil & Gas accounting experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate sound organization skills including:multitasking, spreadsheets, word processing and database programs. Must have a valid Wyoming driver's license. Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
