Job Description

TITLE:
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER PRIMARY FUNCTION
To perform all financial functions and generate all pertinent reports required by the school division policy, state and federal law, and the Department of Education. Responsible for all school business operations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, business management, or accounting. 2. A minimum of five years experience in one of the above fields. 3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 4. Thorough knowledge of data processing and computer operations and their application to public school finance and students records/reports.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for development and administration of yearly budget and financial management. This includes the management of the accounting system, receipt of funds, the payment of bills and payroll, and the review and analysis of expenditures. All cost center accounts are monitored and controlled to ensure minimum duplication of effort and maximum utilization of financial resources. 2. Supervises payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing personnel to ensure that all required state and federal reports are submitted correctly and that all personnel and internal reporting operations are properly administered. 3. Examines school activity audits and insures that policy or procedure discrepancies are reviewed with each school principal for correction when required. 4. Reviews financial activities, procedures, and reports with independent local, state, and federal auditors and insures changes are implemented when necessary. 5. Assumes responsibility for the safe keeping of all financial records of the school district. 6. Assists in the evaluation and control of the School Food Service operations. Works closely with the Director of Food Service on operational aspects of the program. 7. Administers personnel functions such as health benefit plans, retirement plans, worker's compensation, and other employment benefit programs. 8. Acts a resource to assist other administrative, educational, technology, and public relations. 9. Attends School Board meetings as directed by the superintendent. 10. Provides necessary leadership to administer the business affairs of the district in such a way as to provide the best educational services with the financial resources available. 11. Provides for an effective two-way communication with staff, community, media, and board. 12. Performs such other duties as may reasonably be prescribed by the superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
As per contract.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and regulations on evaluation of personnel.
Pay:
$106,439.00 - $118,369.00 per year
