Confidential Opportunity Chief Operating Officer (COO) Corporate Office (Stamford) with operations site in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY Location The company's primary operations are currently based on Long Island, New York, while leadership is actively evaluating the potential development of a future corporate office presence in Stamford, Connecticut as part of the organization's long-term growth and operational strategy. This role will be based in Stamford, CT, and require some travel to Long Island on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis depending on the needs of the business.

Base Salary Performance Bonus Long-Term Equity Participation Opportunity About the Company An established aerospace and industrial distribution company undergoing significant operational transformation and modernization is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead the next phase of organizational rebuilding, operational improvement, and long-term platform development. The company operates nationally and internationally across aerospace and industrial markets and is currently executing a broad operational turnaround initiative focused on: ERP stabilization and optimization organizational restructuring operational discipline process improvement workflow modernization accountability systems technology integration AI-enabled operational tools customer service improvement scalable infrastructure development This is a high-impact executive leadership role for an experienced operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and has experience helping organizations stabilize, modernize, and scale through periods of operational change and transformation. The COO will serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the CEO and will play a central role in helping rebuild operational infrastructure, strengthen organizational execution, improve accountability, and institutionalize scalable management systems across the company.This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:
enjoys building organizations, teams, and scalable systems can stabilize and improve operational environments creates accountability without unnecessary bureaucracy thrives in operational transformation and turnaround situations can manage strong personalities and organizational change bridges strategy and execution effectively is highly execution-oriented enjoys solving operational bottlenecks and driving continuous improvement wants meaningful long-term growth opportunity is capable of acting as a true executive partner to the CEO Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee day-to-day business operations across multiple departments and functional areas Help stabilize and improve operational execution throughout the organization Build scalable organizational structures, workflows, reporting systems, and accountability frameworks Drive operational KPIs across fulfillment, customer responsiveness, execution quality, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and organizational performance Improve cross-functional coordination, delegation, communication, and organizational responsiveness Partner closely with the CEO on operational turnaround initiatives, organizational development, and long-term strategic planning Support ERP optimization, workflow automation, operational reporting infrastructure, and technology integration initiatives Create visibility into organizational performance through dashboards, reporting systems, and management cadences Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable corrective actions Help build a high-performance culture centered around accountability, ownership, responsiveness, and execution Assist in organizational scaling initiatives, operational modernization efforts, leadership development, and future strategic opportunities Help institutionalize processes and management systems while maintaining entrepreneurial agility Qualifications 15+ years of leadership experience in operations, general management, business management, supply chain, manufacturing, industrial distribution, or related executive leadership roles Proven experience managing managers and cross-functional teams Strong systems, process, and organizational orientation Experience improving or stabilizing operational environments strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to build accountability and operational discipline Comfortable operating in entrepreneurial, fast-paced, or transitional business environments Strong executive communication and leadership skills ERP experience required (NetSuite experience strongly preferred) Aerospace, industrial distribution, manufacturing, logistics, technology, or related industry experience strongly preferred Experience leading operational transformation, modernization, integration, or turnaround initiatives strongly preferred Candidate must be highly proficient in the use of modern AI-enabled business technologies, specifically including advanced working proficiency with Claude for operational analysis, workflow management, business communication, process development, reporting, and organizational productivity enhancement.
