Full-Time Job Summary The Children's Director is responsible for overseeing and leading the children's ministry at Tower Hill Church. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and activities that foster spiritual growth and development in children from infancy through elementary school. The Children's Director will work closely with numerous volunteers, parents, and church leadership to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Key Responsibilities Program Development and Implementation Develop and implement a comprehensive children's ministry program that aligns with the church's mission and vision. Plan and coordinate weekly children's services, including Sunday School, Children's Church, and mid-week programs. Organize special events, such as Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, and family activities. Leadership and Volunteer Management Recruit, train, and supervise a team of volunteers to assist with children's ministry programs. Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and resources for volunteers to ensure effective ministry. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Curriculum and Resource Management Select and implement age-appropriate curriculum and teaching materials for various age groups. Ensure that all resources and materials are available and in good condition. Evaluate and update curriculum as needed to meet the evolving needs of the ministry. Parent and Family Engagement Communicate regularly with parents and families, providing updates on programs and upcoming events. Offer support and resources to parents to help them nurture their children's spiritual growth at home. Organize family-oriented events to foster community and connection within the church. Safety and Security Ensure that all children's ministry activities adhere to the church's safety policies and procedures. Conduct background checks and training for all volunteers working with children. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all children participating in ministry activities. Budget and Administrative Responsibilities Develop and manage the children's ministry budget in collaboration with church leadership. Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer hours, and program expenses. Prepare regular reports for church leadership on the status and impact of the children's ministry. Collaboration with Church Staff Work closely with other church staff and ministry leaders to ensure cohesive and integrated ministry efforts. Participate in church staff meetings and contribute to the overall vision and direction of the church. Support and assist with church-wide events and initiatives as needed.Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Children's Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in children's ministry or a related field.Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and implement engaging and effective programs for children. Proficiency with technology and social media for ministry purposes. Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and families. Personal Attributes A committed Christian with a deep personal faith and a passion for children's ministry. Strong alignment with the church's mission, vision, and values. Creative, energetic, and able to engage children in meaningful ways. Compassionate and caring, with a heart for nurturing the spiritual growth of children. Working Conditions This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate church services, meetings, and events.
