In this role, you will lead musical elements during services, fostering an uplifting and spiritually enriching environment for congregation members. Your creativity, musical talent, and passion for worship will help deepen the spiritual connection of our community through powerful music ministry. This paid position offers an opportunity to blend artistry with service, making a meaningful impact every week. Duties Lead and coordinate congregational singing during worship services, ensuring a seamless flow of musical participation. Select and rehearse appropriate hymns, spiritual songs, and musical pieces that align with the liturgical calendar and themes. Collaborate with the. pastor and other worship team members to plan music that enhances the message of each service. Manage and maintain musical instruments, sound equipment, and related resources to ensure optimal performance. Organize rehearsals for choir or ensemble groups to prepare for special events. Participate in special events such as holiday services, community outreach programs, and church celebrations when able. Skills Proven experience in church or community music leadership with a strong understanding of worship music traditions. Proficiency in playing piano and organ is highly desirable. Knowledge of music theory, arrangement, and hymnody to create engaging musical selections. Ability to read sheet music fluently and adapt to various musical styles, including contemporary and traditional genres. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clergy, choir members, and congregation members. Experience with sound equipment operation and basic audio mixing is a plus. Familiarity with theatrical elements or stage performance can enhance live worship experiences. Join us in creating inspiring moments of worship through music!
