The Position The City of Gold Hill is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to perform a vital role in maintaining and repairing public works facilities, along with skilled landscaping and irrigation work in parks and other areas. This position is seasonal/temporary and may work with regular employees and volunteers.

SALARY Hiring Salary:

$15.55

• 19/hr (

Full Salary Range:

$15.55

• 21/hr)

Terms:

20-40 hrs/wk as needed; Sunday

• Saturday (on-call for emergency situations, as needed); Non-exempt

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A WONDERFUL PERSON WHO HAS EXPERIENCE IN

• General janitorial services
• Operating light and medium construction equipment
• Maintaining landscaping and executing basic repairs of irrigation
• Performing minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry tasks
• Working independently, making competent decisions, and working as an effective team member
• Establishing and maintaining harmonious and cooperative working relationships with colleagues, citizens, and a wide variety of people

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must have a combination of education and experience equivalent to that outlined below, plus any other listed screening qualifications. 1. High school graduation or GED; education or training in related field. 2. A minimum of two years of experience and training which has provided specific knowledge in the area assigned, including light and medium equipment operation and power tool operation. Landscaping and irrigation experience is preferred. 3. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the job. Special Requirements 1. Possession of, or the ability to obtain and retain, an Oregon driver license by the time of appointment, or otherwise have immediate point-to-point transportation available. 2. Possession of, or permanent access to, a personal vehicle. 3. Pass Criminal History Background Check; demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer software.
