Role Overview The firm is seeking a Civil Engineer in the Monticello, New York area. This position is primarily focused on supporting municipal city utility projects, specifically within water, wastewater, and local infrastructure systems. This is a technical, hands-on role perfect for an engineer who enjoys the nuances of public works. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is NOT required for this position. We are looking for a dedicated professional who is ready to apply their technical knowledge to vital community utility improvements. Key Responsibilities Provide design support for municipal utility infrastructure, including water mains, sanitary sewers, and drainage systems. Develop comprehensive construction documents, site plans, and technical specifications. Perform essential engineering calculations related to hydraulics, hydrology, and utility capacity. Assist in the preparation of regulatory permit applications and environmental impact reports. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including municipal boards and contractors, to ensure project alignment and compliance. Perform site visits and field observations to verify that construction aligns with design intent and local standards.Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.Core Competency:
Must possess a strong foundational understanding of civil design principles.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software is highly preferred.Communication:
Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical municipal partners.Logistics:
