Job Description

Description The Civil Engineer II, P.E. is responsible for performing and supporting the design, analysis, and delivery of civil and infrastructure projects for public-sector clients. This role is suited for a licensed professional engineer who is ready to take increased ownership of project tasks, collaborate closely with project managers and senior engineers, and contribute to high-quality, on-time project delivery.
What You'll Do:
Prepare engineering designs, calculations, plans, and specifications for civil and transportation infrastructure projects. Support roadway, drainage, site civil, and utility-related design efforts under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers. Coordinate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, and external stakeholders to support project delivery. Apply applicable state, federal, and local standards and design criteria to engineering work. Assist with plan production, technical reports, cost estimates, and permit documentation. Respond to review comments and support quality control and quality assurance processes. Provide limited construction-phase support, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings as needed. Participate in mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred. Approximately 3-7 years of progressive civil or transportation engineering experience. Working knowledge of roadway, drainage, and site civil design principles. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software. Familiarity with public-sector project delivery and agency standards is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team environment. Why Join RDA?
