At Garelick Farms, our delivery drivers provide daily support, assist in problem-solving, and ensure that all customers receive their dairy deliveries in an efficient manner. Class A CDL drivers communicate any problems or needs with the supervisor in a timely manner. Job functions include operating a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or double trailer; delivering products or assets in a safe and timely manner to customers, warehouses, distributors, etc., according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the supervisor. Job Duties and Responsibilities Must be a motivated team player driven by our values of excellence, quality, and community. Deliver excellent customer service. Maintain proper chain of custody for daily paperwork Promote a safety conscious work environment Maintain electronic logs and vehicle inspection reports Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations (e.g., put deliveries inside coolers and walk-ins) in a safe and timely manner. Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns Based on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (2-wheel cart and/or pallet jacket); may include stocking and ordering of product (varies from route to route) Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, etc.) and maintain a clean vehicle Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Maintain all log and trip records according to company policy and DOT guidelines Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure Use company supported applications or systems properly Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals
