THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Dallas is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support at our facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will play an important role in keeping the office running efficiently. Your responsibilities include managing daily switchboard operations-handling both incoming and outgoing calls-and coordinating orders for office and cleaning supplies. You will support your assigned institution by performing a variety of clerical tasks such as filing, typing documents, entering data for multiple departments, operating standard office equipment, and maintaining accurate computer records and databases. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer. Two (2) years or more of experience with the Microsoft systems (Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.) and other software packages to create and maintain spreadsheets/calendars/documents/rosters etc. Must have the ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices etc. Must be proficient in keyboarding skills. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
