Position Summary The Clerical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to the nursing and interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and efficient daily operations. This position assists with patient coordination, documentation, communication, scheduling, and other support duties within the agency.

Director of Nursing Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist clinical staff with daily office and patient care support functions Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally and courteously Maintain patient charts, records, and documentation in compliance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations Coordinate communication between patients, families, physicians, pharmacies, and clinical staff Assist with scheduling patient visits and staff assignments Prepare admission packets, physician orders, and other clinical documents Track and follow up on physician signatures, orders, and documentation needs Enter and update patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems Support quality assurance and compliance activities as assigned Assist with supply inventory and ordering clinical materials Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, referral sources, and team members Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Medical office, home health, hospice, or healthcare experience required Knowledge of medical terminology required Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Visual and auditory ability sufficient for communication and computer work Work Schedule (Part-time hours as assigned) May require occasional flexibility depending on agency needs Work Environment This position works primarily in an office or healthcare setting with frequent interaction with staff, patients, families, and healthcare providers.
