Client Reporting Product Owner

Department Profile The Advisor Platforms team is focused on transforming Morgan Stanley's core Advisor Desktop applications that enable Advisors and their teams to effectively manage their clients' financial and demographic data. The team manages the prioritization and implementation of the Wealth Management Division's investments in technology tools and solutions for Financial Advisors and branch support staff. The team works directly with Financial Advisors and all Wealth Management businesses to help translate business needs into technology initiatives. Primary Responsibilities The Client Reporting team focuses on the strategy and day-to-day management of the supplemental reporting platform that Advisors use to synthesize relevant information that best suits the individual needs of their clients. The candidate will serve as a Product Owner to drive Wealth Management and Advisor Platforms strategy in reporting capabilities, ensuring competitive advantage and addressing Advisor and client need. The candidate will also play an integral role in advancing business/platform initiatives through leadership and collaboration across Products, Programs, Operations, Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, as well as with external partners. Additionally, the candidate will manage ongoing Engagement & Adoption activities and help drive an adoption campaign aimed at increasing the usage of the Client Reporting application.
  • Perform the normal day-to-day activities required, as well as the ability to drive the business strategy through the organization
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to identify the organization's Client Reporting needs, solution design and deployment
  • Lead a cross-functional team ensure timely completion of project deliverables based on business priority
  • Liaison between Business, Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance and IT for requirements
  • Actively lead and participate in change management lifecycle, including requirement gathering, implementation, testing, and support
  • Stay current with emerging Client Reporting capabilities and analytics
  • Provide training support for Financial Advisor teams, Local Field Trainers and Help Desk
  • Provide support to users in the Field for issues escalated to the platform team
  • Participate in presentations and training events for Financial Advisors and other end users
  • Analyze and produce quantitative and qualitative metrics data on platform activity
  • Support the release and implementation of platform and product enhancements, including creating and executing engagement and communication plan
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree required
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in technology product management
  • Experience in retail banking, wealth management, and/or consumer financial technology industries preferred
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and experience in Agile methodology Required Skills
  • Experience in Client Reporting, including performance reporting a plus
  • Experience in engaging with Financial Advisors and staff
  • Experience as a Product Owner leading an agile scrum team
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to interact at all levels of the organization and tailor messages appropriately
  • Strong presentation skills, including ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations for various levels of management
  • Independent self-starter who can manage multiple parallel work streams and initiatives to aggressive deadlines
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, including UX, technology, marketing, communications, legal, risk and compliance.
  • Detailed, organized, and results-oriented
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and build trust across the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage through change
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA and Tableau a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
