(non-exempt): Creates a professional office image by providing superior customer service while effectively assisting the medical providers in the care and treatment of patients, and by working cooperatively with other staff members to promote a smooth flow of work within the office. This position requires the ability to float between providers within the clinic and to off-site clinic locations. Performs assigned procedures and duties within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Iowa RN or LPN license Completion of a Medical Assistant program/Certified Medical Assistant preferred Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Experience in a physician's office preferred Computer skills preferredACCOUNTABILITY

Ability to maintain confidentiality; and both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a clinic work environment Assists with in-office patient care: Rooms patients in a professional and friendly manner Takes vital signs, BP's, Ht. /Wt. Obtains reason for visit, updates history and medication lists, obtain nursing assessments and screens health maintenance Assists or performs procedures as directed by the physician (i.e., waived lab tests, dressing changes, suture removal, venipunctures, injections, etc.) Performs patient education Obtains consents Communicates with other hospital departments to schedule tests and procedures Calls pharmacies to order prescribed medications and refills as directed by the physician Returns calls from patients, pharmacies, other physicians, etc. in a timely manner Communicates with outside agencies as needed Accurately, completely, and in a timely manner documents findings and outcomes of all above interactions inpatient electronic medical record and signs each entry Performs telephone triage according to physician-approved protocols and schedules work-in appointments for acute patients Calls insurance companies for pre-certification Maintains a clean working environment Cleans and keeps stocked exams/ procedure rooms Demonstrates appropriate instrument and safety procedures when cleaning and disinfecting per clinic routine Takes and receives instruments from Central Sterilization as needed Check medications and supplies for expiration monthly, properly disposing of expired medications and supplies Alerts manager to any problems with instruments, equipment, or environment Assists office staff as needed Attend meetings and in-services as required Perform other duties as assigned Float between providers within the clinic to support daily workflows based on scheduling and patient volume. Float to off-site clinic locations as assigned to ensure consistent staffing coverage and patient care.WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment May come in contact with hazardous chemical or treatment modalities Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases Involvement in inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury Work environment is comfortable, with minimal exposure to physical hazards Moderate to loud noise environment when machines/equipment in use Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situationsLocation:
