Job Description

The Putnam County Hospital Medical Practice Team Lead works closely with physicians and staff to oversee operations of the practice and align it with Putnam County Hospital's mission and strategic vision. Key requirements involve the development, planning, coordinating and implementing business plan and strategy. This involves budgets and overseeing all aspects of the daily operation of the business including business expansion; office coding, billing and collections; promote patient satisfaction and perform service recovery; employee management and training; policy & procedure management; medical record management; technical issues; physical office issue resolution; physician issue resolution; daily flow and evaluating standards of care for patients. The Team Lead will be responsible for the development of process improvement opportunities and policy management. An effective Team Lead enhances operational effectiveness while emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation and quality of care. The Team Lead will position the practice to be in compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies and encourages community education and marketing through various related activities and overall acts as the liaison and a channel of communication between the practice and PCH executives Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the achievement and maintenance of RHC status, Meaningful Use quality measures and other clinical quality improvement initiatives Promote continuous quality improvement in patient services and practice workflow Manages and coordinates all aspects of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification and reception Tracks access to care Ensures compliance with standard, Putnam County Hospital, OSHA and HIPAA policies and requirements Establishes and implements short and long range organizational goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures Monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness and implements changes required for improvement Oversees the supervision of personnel including: work allocation, training and problem resolution Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance Recruiting, interviewing and hiring new staff Develops procedures and trains staff on new policies Develops and monitors office budgets, monitors resource utilization and initiates purchase requests Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree preferred 3 - 5 years of management experience in a medical setting Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be accepted Knowledge and Skills Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures Knowledge of professional clinical intake assessment and patient triage protocols and procedures Previous experience in the healthcare field Strong interpersonal and communication skills Exceptional technical skills including experience with Microsoft Office products and an electronic health record Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and resolve conflict when necessary Knowledge of staff hiring procedures Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Employee development and performance management skills Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures Ability to foster a team approach
Working Conditions:
Occasional exposure to difficult patients. Stress level high due to multiple demands frequently occurring simultaneously. Physical surroundings generally pleasant and comfortable Most work performed while sitting, however, a moderate amount of walking and moving around within a confined area occurs
