FUNCTION OF THE JOB
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville is accepting applications for full-time, clinical instructor for Practical Nursing Program. An employee in this class is responsible for the supervision and education of the students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program of study. The candidate must pass a background check.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The practical nursing clinical instructor, under the direction of the Director of Allied Health, shall be responsible for assisting in planning, developing, and initiating clinical learning experiences in the clinical setting. Must maintain student records for documentation and evaluation of clinical performance. Develop courses of study and conduct training program. Confer with administration to gain knowledge and better understand changes in policies, procedures, and technologies. Formulate clinical calendars and communicate with students via electronic formats. Maintain student records and reports. Responsible for student placement and assist with student follow-up. Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the school's general public. Participate in recruitment of students. Supervise student's clinical experiences as scheduled. Actively seek potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President, Vice President and Director of Allied Health.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must possess an associate degree in nursing but B.S.N. degree is preferred. Must hold a current/active Registered Nursing license in the State of Tennessee. Minimum of three years' recent work experience in patient care nursing at the R.N. level required. Teaching experience preferred. Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher. Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude. Must be willing to remain current in the nursing profession.
SALARY:
$50,894 - $61,074. Commensurate with education and experience.
