Qualifications of the

Shall have the minimal qualification of CSIT as awarded by the Department of Safety and Professional Services. Shall preferably have a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology, but must minimally be licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor, in addition to supervisory credential.
Must have at least three years experience in the Alcohol & Drug treatment field.
Shall have a skill set (or capacity) for counselor training and development.
If recovering, shall have at least three years of sobriety.

Responsibilities of the

Shall be responsible for maintaining best practice principles within program structure
Shall be responsible for implementing/monitoring programmatic tenets of DHS 75
Shall be responsible for counselor training and development
Shall supervise and account for counselors' supervision (according to DHS 75 standards)
Shall schedule treatment day and staffing; approve vacation days of counseling staff and submit to scheduler
Shall be responsible for patient records and certification inspection of same
Shall be responsible for performance evaluation of counselors and unit managers
Shall expedite problem cases (for clients or staff behaviors) when change is not forthcoming (in conjunction with Executive Director as advisor)
May handle complaints/grievance in Director's absence
Shall plan programming for holidays
May present lectures
Shall, when essential, assume counseling duties
On call after hours; to be rotated with Clinical Supervisor if applicable
Other discretionary responsibilities as determined by Executive Director Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
No or very limited physical effort is required
No or very limited exposure to physical risk

$78,475.36 - $94,507.96 per year
