Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for managing and optimizing the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) and related Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications. This role ensures that RPMS functions effectively, provides ongoing training and support to staff, manages system updates, coordinates user access, and ensures smooth integration with other clinical applications. The primary focus is to optimize RPMS usage to enhance clinical workflows, patient care, and staff proficiency and supporting LHC's mission to provide access to quality, culturally respectful healthcare services for the Pueblo of Laguna community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RPMS
Administration and Technical Support 1.Manage daily operations of RPMS, EHR, and associated clinical software. 2.Administer the Direct Messaging System and Indian Health Service PHR system, and ensuring compliance with IHS protocols. 3.Trouble shoot and resolve technical issues within RPMS and integrations with other clinical applications including PACS, iCare, pharmacy (ScriptPro), laboratory package, scanning (Vista) dental applications (Dentrix) and BPRM. 4.Lead the implementation and optimization of the patient portal to enhance patient engagement. 5.Provide leadership for the EHR Governance Team. Training and Staff Development 6.Train staff on system updates, new features and workflow improvements. 7.Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs tailored to different user levels. 8.Provide ongoing education, follow-up training, and refresher courses as needed to maximize system utilization. System Updates and Communication 9. Receive and review server patch notifications; interpret technical updates and monitor in test environments for staff understanding. 10.Organize training sessions as needed to ensure smooth adoption of system changes. 11.Monitor system performance post-update and resolve issues promptly. Optimization of System Use 12.Identify areas where RPMS and related applications can improve clinical workflows. 13.Provide best practices and guidance to staff to maximize efficiency and patient care outcomes.

MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Five (5) years of Clinical Informaticist experience. RPMS and AAAHC accreditation experience desired.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field or any combination of education or directly related experience totaling ten (10) years may be substituted.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required for this position. 1.Proficiency in maintaining applications within the RPMS framework. 2.In-depth knowledge of RPMS and related clinical applications. 3.Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering effective training programs for diverse audiences. 4.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently. 5.Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical information clearly to non-technical users. 6.Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple training sessions, system updates, and user support requests simultaneously. 7.Cultural competency and respect for Tribal sovereignty and traditions. 8.Clean driving record and ability to be insured to drive a Clinic vehicle.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative to those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. This position may be exposed to certain health risks that are inherent when working within a health center facility, such as potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, sharps and infectious body fluids. Physical demands:
The physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. There may be prolonged periods of standing, sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Operation of a motor vehicle required to travel between LHC facilities and perform other assigned off-site tasks.
Mental demands:
There are many deadlines associated with this position. The employee must be able to handle frequent interruptions and must also multi-task and interact with a wide variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.
TRIBAL PREFERENCE LHC
will apply "Indian Preference" as an employment criterion and not a "racial classification." The Laguna Healthcare Corporation has implemented a Tribal Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by this position, and who are enrolled members of the Pueblo of Laguna will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position. Members of other Federally recognized Indian Tribes will be given secondary preference for hiring and employment after providing proof of Tribal membership.

Background Investigation:
This position may be subject to a criminal history background check, a suitability background check and/or a credit report check. In addition, some positions are subject to a more extensive background check to ensure compliance with Public Law 101-630 Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act. Candidates must be able to successfully pass all required background checks to qualify for this position.
Drug Screening:
All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment and will be subject to random drug testing.
